The Junior Red Cross Society, the students’ wing of the Red Cross Society, was established in Al-Furqan English Higher Secondary School in the year 2015.
“Health, Service and Friendship” are the three basic principles of the JRC movement organised in schools.
Under the Junior Red Cross school students get a chance to involve themselves in community services and crisis management activities.
“Protection of Health and Life, Service to others, and International Friendship are the major programmes of the Junior Red Cross Society. The objective is to inculcate a service mentality in children and to develop a socially-committed generation. Any student who can work for society without the thought of profit can be a member of the Junior Red Cross Society,”
The JRC functioning with the motto “I Serve” will mainly focus on promoting health activities among students, training in first aid and developing an aptitude in community service. Students are given training in disaster management too.
Students are selected from Classes 8, 9 and 10. The JRC members in Classes 8, 9, and 10 can appear for A-level, B-level, and C-level examinations respectively.
Those who pass the JRC C-level examination will be given grace marks.
